Magnetic Processing of Feeble Magnetic Materials under High Magnetic Fields
报告摘要
Magnetic effects on feeble magnetic materials and its applications are reported. Due to the advent of cryogen-free superconducting magnets, the access to high magnetic fields has become easier for researchers in the areas of materials sciences, chemistry, and biology. As a result, a number of new magnetic phenomena such as Mose’s effect have been found over last ten years. In this article, we first compare the magnetic energy to other competing energies, including thermal, intermolecular, gravitational, elastic energies, etc. It is demonstrated that the magnetic energy is equal with or even more powerful than those other competing energies in many cases if a strong magnetic field, for example 10 T, is applied. Some examples of the application of magnetic phenomena developed in our group are presented, including 3-dimensional magnetic alignment of crystallites, magnetic patterning of micro particles, etc.
T. Kimura教授,1981年获京都大学博士学位,1982-1990年就职于日本朝日化学有限公司,1990-1993加拿大麦吉尔大学博士后,1994-2002日本京都城市大学副教授、2003-2007日本京都城市大学教授, 2007年至今京都大学教授。2004-2005国家材料科学研究所强磁场中心材料组兼职组长,2011-2012日本磁気科学协会主席。
