报告人简介：曹树更博士现任职于美国哈佛大学医学院，是美国哈佛大学医学院天然产物研究室主任。他主要从事天然产物的分离鉴定和药理活性的检测工作，具有非常丰富的天然药物的研究工作经验，是Organic Letters，Journal of Natural Product，Tetrahedron等9种学术期刊的特约评审专家。曹树更博士在Science, Cell, PNAS, Org. Lett., J. Natural Product 等国际权威学术期刊上发表论文70余篇，获国际专利5项。
报告摘要：Many small molecules play very important roles in nature. Our studies on Bacillus subtilis led to the discovery of two types of biofilm inhibitors, D-amino acids and norspermidine. Their mechanisms of actions have been elucidated and proposed. Gene manipulation of a Streptomyces species yielded polycyclic tetramate macrolactams (PTM) that showed anti-fungal activity. Genome mining and PCR-guided study were carried out to identify more PTM analogues from an environmental Streptomyces strain. Ipomoeassins and other biologically active molecules were discovered through assay-guided separation from tropical plants, endophytic fungi and bacteria.
